Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, merchandising, paperwork, and daily store operations. This limited-term role develops external candidates for future Store Manager positions.

You will lead customer service, assist in recruiting, open and close the store, handle deposits, review performance, and ensure compliance with policies while maintaining a safe, well-stocked environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and inventory management.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management, including damages, markdowns, and turnover.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store; participate in bank deposits as needed.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability and policies.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
