Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Aurora, IN is seeking a Manager in Training to assist the Store Manager with daily operations and store initiatives. You will become knowledgeable across product areas and promote sales and promotions while delivering outstanding customer service.

As Manager in Training, you will assume store leadership in the Store Manager's absence, help manage inventory, scheduling, and merchandising, and guide employees to meet goals.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Is a self-starter, has initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
• Is a team-player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in protecting store assets.
• Plan actions for selling, restocking, merchandising, and scheduling.
• Lead store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
• Advise employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to meet department standards.
• Report inventory movement and customer trends to the Store Manager.
• Maintain high-quality customer service.
• Perform administrative duties and learn Store Manager responsibilities.
• Support promotions and merchandise selling.
• Uphold company policies and procedures.
• Protect assets and report potential fraud.
