Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking a Manager in Training to assist the Store Manager with daily store operations, supervision, and customer service excellence. You will learn product areas, promote promotions, and help drive sales while maintaining company policies and inventory control.

As the Manager in Training, you will step in for the Store Manager when needed, supervise staff, and ensure a positive customer experience across departments.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment is preferred, especially footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and meet goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative and reliability.
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to plan selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling actions.
• Take responsibility for the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure department responsibilities and standards are met.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Maintain high-quality customer service per manuals and policies.
• Support extraordinary customer service during peak periods and promote services and merchandise.
• Uphold all store policies, procedures, and internal controls to protect assets.
