Job summary

Lynd Management Group, LLC in Pittsburgh seeks an experienced HUD Property Manager to oversee operations, financial performance, and regulatory compliance of an affordable multifamily property. The role requires hands-on leadership and deep knowledge of HUD programs and resident-file requirements.

The ideal candidate will supervise the on-site team, manage leasing and occupancy, monitor budgets, and prepare accurate reports for owners and agencies, ensuring timely certifications and audits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years of affordable housing property management experience.
  • Experience supervising and developing employees.
  • Knowledge of HUD, Project-Based Section 8, LIHTC, HOME, Bond, or similar programs.
  • Familiarity with HUD Handbook 4350.3 and occupancy requirements.
  • Experience with certifications, recertifications, file audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Knowledge of HUD systems such as EIV, TRACS, and iMAX.
  • Experience preparing for Management and Occupancy Reviews and inspections.
  • Strong financial, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, motivate, and develop the on-site team.
  • Oversee leasing, occupancy, collections, resident retention, and operations.
  • Monitor budgets, revenue, expenses, and financial performance.
  • Prepare operational, financial, compliance, and owner reports.
  • Ensure resident files, certifications, and recertifications are accurate and timely.
  • Maintain compliance with income restrictions, set-asides, and program requirements.
  • Prepare for audits, NSPIRE inspections, and regulatory reviews.
  • Coordinate correction of audit findings and deficiencies.
  • Maintain waiting lists, compliance records, and housing documentation.
  • Partner with maintenance to meet standards.
  • Resolve resident concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Communicate with clients, monitoring agencies, leadership, and departments.

What We're Looking For
  • At least three years of affordable housing property management experience.
  • Previous experience supervising and developing employees.
  • Knowledge of HUD, Project-Based Section 8, LIHTC, HOME, Bond, or similar programs.
  • Current knowledge of HUD Handbook 4350.3 and applicable occupancy requirements.
  • Experience with certifications, recertifications, file audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Knowledge of EIV, TRACS, iMAX, or other applicable HUD systems.
  • Experience preparing for Management and Occupancy Reviews and physical inspections.

  • RealPage OneSite experience preferred.

  • Certified Apartment Manager or another affordable housing credential preferred.
