Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking an Assistant General Manager to work closely with the GM and drive daily restaurant operations, stepping in during the GM's absence to ensure smooth service.

The AGM will lead shifts, coach staff, maintain hospitality standards, manage scheduling and inventory, resolve guest concerns, and help onboard new team members with an eye toward future growth into a General Manager role.

Qualifications

• Must have AGM, Restaurant Manager, or strong Service Manager experience.
• Experience in polished full-service or high-volume dining.
• Seafood or raw bar experience is a plus.
• Excellent floor management and service standards.
• Ability to lead pre-shifts and coach employees.
• Strong organizational and administrative skills.
• Experience with scheduling, labor, inventory, and restaurant systems.
• Ability to handle guest concerns professionally.
• Desire to develop into a future General Manager.

Responsibilities

• Support the GM with daily restaurant operations.
• Independently run shifts and manage the restaurant.
• Coach and develop employees.
• Maintain service and hospitality standards.
• Assist with scheduling and labor management.
• Manage opening and closing procedures.
• Monitor cleanliness and readiness; handle guest concerns.
• Assist with training and onboarding.
• Help maintain inventory and operational controls.
• Communicate issues and opportunities to the GM.
