Job summary

River Parishes Community College is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technology Instructor for a 9-month, full-time appointment. Courses may be taught face-to-face, online, and/or in the evenings across Gonzales, Reserve, Plaquemine, and St. Charles campuses.

Faculty participate in committees, advise students, and assist with recruitment. Minimum qualifications include an Associate degree (or 10 years field experience) with knowledge of instrumentation systems and safety practices;

Qualifications

• Associate degree (official transcripts must be submitted) or ten years field experience in instrumentation.
• Current knowledge of instrumentation systems and practices.
• Current knowledge of industrial safety practices.
• Satisfactory background check – an offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop,deliver, revise, and teach Instrumentation & Electrical Technology courses.
• Meet College deadlines for attendance taking, gradesubmission, learning outcomes assessment reporting, and textbook adoptions.
• Serve on campus committees.
• Advise students.
• Assist with student recruitment efforts.
• Maintain a safe and orderly lab environment.
• Maintain lab equipment and inventory.Collaborate with business & industry partners to improve the Instrumentation & Electrical Technology program.
• Consult with other College faculty and staff on issues relevant to student success.
• Monitor and document student performance.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to the River Parishes Community College Mission
