Job summary

River Parishes Community College seeks an Instrumentation & Electrical Technology Instructor for a 9-month, full-time schedule. Courses may be taught face-to-face or online across Gonzales, Reserve, Plaquemine, and St. Charles campuses, including evening classes.

The ideal candidate has an associate degree or 10 years of instrumentation experience, knowledge of instrumentation systems and safety practices, and a readiness to participate in committees, advising, and recruitment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (official transcripts must be submitted) or ten years field experience in instrumentation.
• Current knowledge of various instrumentation systems and practices.
• Current knowledge of industrial safety practices.
• Satisfactory background check – an offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.
• Previous teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop,deliver, revise, and teach Instrumentation & Electrical Technology courses.
• Meet College deadlines for attendance taking, gradesubmission, learning outcomes assessment reporting, and textbook adoptions.
• Serve on campus committees.
• Advise students.
• Assist with student recruitment efforts.
• Maintain a safe and orderly lab environment.
• Maintain lab equipment and inventory.
• Collaborate with business & industry partners to improve the Instrumentation & Electrical Technology program.
• Consult with other College faculty and staff on issues relevant to student success.
• Monitorand documentstudent performance.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to the River Parishes Community College Mission
