Job summary

Blue Bottle is seeking a Leader in Training to guide cafe teams toward exceptional hospitality and coffee experiences. You’ll work closely with the Cafe Leader on operations, training, and delivering business objectives within a vibrant cafe environment.

Relocation within a 50-mile radius of the market area is required. The role emphasizes leadership, training, and sustainability aligned with Blue Bottle’s guiding principles.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a leadership role or leading a team, preferably in coffee, food, and beverage.
• Completed Blue Bottle Academy Barista training and validation, or will complete within 90 days post-hire.
• Food Safety Certification required for the state and role, or obtained within 30 days post-hire.

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for cafe operations in the absence of the Cafe Leader.
• Foster a culture of learning, inclusivity, and feedback within the team.
• Uphold sustainability values and motivate team members to contribute to goals.
• Assist in recruiting a diverse team and manage performance through feedback.
• Optimize staffing and shift management to deliver hospitality of the highest standard.
• Enhance guest experience through engagement, product education, and handling feedback professionally.
• Collaborate with the Cafe Leader on business analysis, scheduling, inventory, and planning.
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure accurate scheduling and transactions.
• Adhere to safety policies and report concerns to promote a safe workplace.
