Job summary

Blue Bottle Coffee in New York is seeking a Leader in Training to guide cafe teams toward exemplary hospitality and coffee experiences. You will partner with the Cafe Leader on ordering, inventory, and workflow optimization to boost financial and operational performance.

Relocation within 50 miles and adherence to Blue Bottle values are required. The role emphasizes training, product quality, and leadership growth in a fast-paced cafe environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a leadership role or leading a team
• Completed Blue Bottle Barista training and validation or will complete within 90 days
• Existing Food Safety Certification for the state and will obtain within 30 days
• Familiarity with Google Docs and online collaboration tools
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to smell and taste to support quality control
• Able to listen and speak clearly with guests to take and fill orders
• Role may involve exposure to temperature-controlled environments

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for cafe operations in the absence of the Cafe Leader
