Job summary

Blue Bottle is seeking a Leader in Training in New York to guide cafe teams and uphold Blue Bottle standards. You will partner with the Cafe Leader on operations, training, and guest experiences to drive hospitality and product excellence.

The role emphasizes leadership, staff development, and operational oversight, with a focus on sustainability and community through coffee. A strong schedule and adaptability are required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a leadership role or leading a team.
• Completed Blue Bottle Barista training and validation or will complete within 90 days post-hire.
• Food Safety Certification required for the state you will be working in or obtained within 30 days post-hire.
• Eligible to work in the United States and 18 years of age or older.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of cafe operations in the absence of the Cafe Leader.
• Foster a culture of respect, inclusivity, and continuous learning.
• Uphold Blue Bottle's sustainability values and motivate the team.
• Assist recruitment and manage performance through feedback and coaching.
• Optimize staffing and shift management to ensure exemplary hospitality.
• Engage guests, educate on products, and handle feedback professionally.
• Collaborate with the Cafe Leader on business analysis, planning, and scheduling.
• Maintain accurate transactions and inventory counts; adhere to safety policies.
