Blue Bottle Coffee Inc. seeks a Leader in Training to guide cafe teams toward exceptional hospitality and coffee experiences, while upholding cafe standards and business goals.

They will work with the Cafe Leader on operations, training, inventory, and financial performance, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Relocation within 50 miles of the market area is required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a leadership role or leading a team, preferably in coffee/food & beverage
• Completed Blue Bottle Academy Barista training and validation program or will complete within 90 days post-hire
• Food Safety Certification required for the state and role, or obtained within 30 days post-hire
• Familiarity with online collaboration tools including Google Docs
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Step into cafe operations in the absence of the Cafe Leader to ensure smooth functioning
• Foster respect, inclusion, and continuous learning within the team
• Uphold sustainability values and motivate team members toward goals
• Assist in recruiting and manage performance through feedback and coaching
• Optimize staffing and shifts to deliver exemplary hospitality
• Enhance guest experience via engagement, product education, and handling feedback
• Collaborate on business analysis, planning, and action plans for sales, restocking, inventory, and scheduling
• Ensure accurate transactions, maintain inventory, and assist scheduling
• Adhere to safety policies and promote a safe workplace
• Manage controllable budget and labor hours with accountability
