Job summary

Blue Bottle Coffee is seeking a Cafe Leader to build and nurture a diverse, high-performing team, delivering outstanding hospitality and coffee experiences. You will coach staff, guide daily cafe operations, and align performance with sales and guest satisfaction goals.

You will drive safety, quality, and sustainability while collaborating with Area Leaders and other teams to welcome the local community and regular guests. This role requires on-site presence and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail/hospitality experience
• 2+ years of leadership experience leading a team of 10+ people
• Proven experience in hiring, training, and developing team members
• Completion or within 90 days post-hire of Blue Bottle Academy Barista training
• Food Safety Certification for state and role, or will obtain within 30 days post-hire
• Understanding of profit and loss statements and how to influence them
• Comfort with Google Drive tools (Sheets, Docs, Calendar)
• On-site availability with flexible mornings/evenings/weekends/holidays
• Ability to taste and smell to ensure quality
• Strong guest service and communication skills
• Exposed to food/beverage prep environments

Responsibilities

• Build, develop, inspire, and retain a high-performing team with coaching and performance management
• Lead by example to ensure exceptional guest experiences and consistent service
• Oversee day-to-day cafe operations including ordering, scheduling, payroll, and banking
• Drive sales, guest satisfaction, and cafe performance against targets
• Champion sustainability initiatives and environmental responsibility
• Foster a safe, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture
• Collaborate with other Blue Bottle teams and Area Leader on community initiatives
• Uphold quality and deliciousness across beverages and food items
• Ensure health, food safety, and safety guidelines are followed
• Manage cafe P&L aligned with budgets and goals
• Address team concerns to maintain harmony and productivity
