Job summary

LiveOnNY is seeking a Funeral Home Liaison to serve as the primary link between the organization and Medical Examiners, Coroners, and Funeral Service professionals. The role focuses on developing and evaluating donation strategies to maximize tissue referrals and recoveries while ensuring compliance with CMS, NYS, FDA, OPTN, and LiveOnNY SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in health science, healthcare administration, public health, mortuary science/funeral service, nursing, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience in funeral service, Medical Examiner/Coroner relations, organ or tissue donation, healthcare, partner relations, or another stakeholder-facing environment.
• Ability to communicate sensitively with grieving families and exercise sound judgment and discretion.
• Working knowledge of human anatomy and ability to use standard computer applications.

Responsibilities

• manage Medical Examiner/Coroner and Funeral Service relationships and follow up.
• Provide time-sensitive support, including after-hours when needed.
• Educate and engage Medical Examiners/Coroners and Funeral Service professionals about donation.
• Submit routine reports and assist policy development and compliance.
• Coordinate autopsy reports and track case activity.
• Ensure accurate data entry in LiveOnNY donor record systems.
• Maintain confidentiality and support quality and performance improvement.
