Job summary

Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is seeking an Associate Director, Client Development – Funds, to lead global client development initiatives for Funds practices. You’ll coordinate across lawyers and business teams to deliver tailored materials supporting new business opportunities, including event strategy and budget management.

You’ll advise partners and practice leaders on market positioning, integrate fund-related capabilities, and ensure high-quality client communications across channels.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in a law firm environment, preferably in a business development role supporting Registered Funds practices.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with a diverse team across departments and levels.
• Deep business acumen and organizational awareness.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of strategic pitches, proposals, presentations, and responses to RFPs for Funds and related areas.
• Partner with Firm leadership and attorneys to develop client plans and opportunity pipelines.
• Shape submissions for legal directories, rankings, awards, surveys, and other recognition opportunities.
• Provide strategic guidance on client-facing materials and engage across print and digital channels.
• Oversee engagement data, budgets, and cross-practice collaboration with CDE teams.
• Lead events strategy and activation for Funds-related practices, including budgeting and ROI evaluation.
