Job summary

CFP Board of Standards, Inc. in Washington, DC is seeking a Development Manager to join a small two-person team and drive the organization’s fundraising program.

You will oversee development operations, donor communications, and donor engagement, reporting to the Director of Development to grow revenue from individuals and organizations. Responsibilities include managing the donor CRM, recording gifts, producing donor-facing materials, and supporting stewardship, prospect research, and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 4-5 years of nonprofit development, fundraising operations and/or donor relations.
• Proficiency with donor management systems (Salesforce preferred).
• Exceptional writing and editing for proposals and impact reports.
• High level of professionalism and ability to work with all levels of staff and volunteers.
• Strong donor focus and attention to detail.
• Passion for CFP Board's mission and ability to communicate its impact.
• Excellent time and project management; self-starter and team player.
• Tactful discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
• Entrepreneurially inclined; resourceful, proactive, and results-driven.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the donor database/CRM, ensuring data integrity.
• Oversee the full gift lifecycle with acknowledgements and receipts.
• Serve as primary contact for donor inquiries about gifts and pledges.
• Track fundraising performance, donor trends, and reporting deadlines.
• Draft donor-facing materials and build a library of templates and stories.
• Support moves management strategies for mid-level and major donors.
