Job summary

Preservation Maryland is seeking a Development Associate to support fundraising across the state. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Chief Development Officer and provides essential support for a diverse portfolio of projects and programming.

The role includes processing gifts, managing the EveryAction CRM, researching funders, drafting grants and donor appeals, preparing mailing lists, and coordinating major donor meetings. Strong communication and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of professional experience in a development-related role.
• Familiarity with constituent management databases or related platform services.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud services (OneDrive).

Responsibilities

• Process all gifts and required acknowledgements.
• Manage CRM Database (EveryAction).
• Research and identify prospective funders.
• Support the drafting and submission of grant applications and reports.
• Support the drafting of printed and digital donor appeals.
• Prepare mailing lists for donor communications.
• Participate in fundraising events across the state.
• Provide administrative support for meetings with major donors.
