Job summary

Junior Achievement of Greater St. Louis is seeking a Special Events Coordinator to plan, organize, and execute fundraising events aligning with JA’s mission. You will manage logistics, vendors, volunteers, budgets, and stakeholder communications to drive revenue and community impact.

The role focuses on cultivating donor relationships, soliciting corporate sponsorships, and coordinating promotions and post-event evaluations to improve future outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience planning and coordinating special events, especially nonprofit or fundraising events.
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication abilities to engage donors.
• Ability to manage multiple events and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proven collaborative skills with volunteers, staff and partners.
• Familiarity with donor databases and donor stewardship processes.
• Physical ability to lift and transport event materials up to 50 lb.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate special events such as peer-to-peer fundraisers, trivia, and golf events.
• Attend events and manage logistics, vendors, and volunteers.
• Acquire sponsorships and recruit participants from companies and individuals.
• Cultivate donor relationships and support funding from current and potential donors.
• Develop event budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure revenue goals.
• Coordinate communications, marketing plans, and event materials.
• Work with board committees to increase participation.
• Oversee fundraising platform management and post-event evaluation.
• Engage donors, sponsors, and community partners to strengthen engagement.
