Job summary

Junior Achievement of South Florida, Inc. seeks an Event Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events and JA World facility rental events.

You will work with staff, volunteers, vendors, donors, and sponsors to ensure engaging, well-run events that support JA’s mission. The role requires strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills, with availability for occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on event schedules.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in event coordination, administrative support, hospitality, fundraising support, or related field.
• Experience coordinating event or facility logistics and serving donors, guests, clients, volunteers, or vendors is preferred.
• Experience with fundraising auctions, event registration systems, donor databases, or nonprofit events is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is preferred.
• Familiarity with CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising events and JA World facility rental events, reporting to the Events Manager.
• Work with JA staff, volunteers, vendors, and sponsors to ensure events are organized and engaging.
• Coordinate event logistics, including themes, materials, décor, entertainment, and food and beverage.
• Schedule staff, recruit and guide volunteers, and track event revenue and expenses.
• Coordinate with vendors, contracts, deliveries, and safety compliance.
• Maintain guest lists, seating, registration records, and event materials.
• Document information in the CRM system and ensure confidential handling of donations and payments.
• Collaborate with Marketing to promote events and with Development to recognize sponsors.
• Attend post-event debriefings and implement improvements for future events.
