Job summary

Funding Advisor position at Crawford Thomas Recruiting in Austin, TX is an inside sales role handling the entire funding process from initial application through funding while building long-term client relationships.

This is primarily an inbound sales role with ~100 new applicants monthly. You’ll conduct discovery calls, coordinate with underwriting, present funding options, and guide each deal through closing, creating lasting partnerships with small business owners.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in alternative business finance, merchant cash advance (MCA), SBA lending, or related lending environment.
• Proven success in a high-volume inside sales environment.
• Strong phone sales, consultative selling, negotiation, and closing skills.
• Experience qualifying small business borrowers and identifying financing needs.
• Knowledge of lending documentation and underwriting processes.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple active deals and follow-up activities.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and results-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to inbound funding applicants
• Conduct discovery calls to understand clients’ businesses and financing needs
• Qualify prospective borrowers and identify appropriate funding solutions
• Collect and organize required documentation
• Coordinate with underwriting and lending partners throughout the approval process
• Present approved funding options to business owners
• Clearly explain rates, terms, repayment structures, and available financing options
• Address objections and guide clients through the decision-making process
• Close funding opportunities and manage deals through funding
• Manage multiple active opportunities simultaneously
• Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective and existing clients
• Build lasting client relationships that generate repeat business
