Jobtailor is seeking a senior Fund Operations leader in Washington, DC, to oversee Hedge Funds and Private Equity activities, manage capital actions, and drive operational excellence across multiple teams.

The role requires deep expertise in alternative funds, strong vendor negotiation skills, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional projects while ensuring strict regulatory compliance and high-quality client service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Masters/Advanced Degree preferred.
• 8-12 years Fund Operations experience.
• Experience with Hedge Funds and Private Equity.
• Vendor contract negotiation experience.
• Experience creating and managing vendor SLAs.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to adapt in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and strategic leadership of private and hedge fund operations, including commingled vehicles and direct investments.
• Lead and strengthen relationships with fund vendors and custodians, focusing on client service and SLA adherence.
• Oversee capital activity for private fund vehicles, including capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, redemptions, and related activity.
• Evaluate and document end-to-end workflows and processes for alternative fund operations.
• Manage and develop fund operations talent, including team members in Baltimore.
• Participate in the Firm’s Valuation Committee regarding fair valuation and SEC regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitate accurate regulatory reporting with compliance and legal teams.
• Lead presentations with Fund Boards and coordinate board presentation materials and messaging.
• Oversee the launch, merging, and closing of funds in coordination with legal and internal teams.
• Collect and document enhancement and process requests from internal stakeholders.
• Execute ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives with Private Client, Institutional Sales and Service, Technology and Infrastructure.
• Advocate for clients and the firm through vendor contract and service level negotiations.
