Job summary

Oliver James, in partnership with a global asset manager, seeks a Fund Controller in New York to lead financial reporting, NAV accuracy, and investor reporting across private markets and ILS platforms.

You will collaborate with senior management, portfolio managers, investor relations, fund administrators, and external service providers, handling regulatory reporting, audits, and capital forecasting. CPA with 8–12 years’ experience is required.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of accounting and/or finance experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting, fund accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in asset management, private markets, fund accounting, or financial services is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial reporting: monthly estimates, close packages, NAVs, allocations, waterfalls and fund returns.
• Partner with Fund Administrator on investor reporting: monthly statements, audits and due diligence requests.
• Support cash management forecasts and budgeting to establish capital for investment.
• Maintain expense registers and ledgers to support budgeting and forecasting.
• Oversee fund credit facilities and ensure compliance with agreements and portfolio assets.
• Analyze large asset portfolios: reconciliations, tests, quality and concentration ratios.
• Review management and performance fee calculations.
• Respond to investor queries on performance, NAVs, taxes and related matters.
• Support external audit and tax professionals through year-end processes.
• Assist with SEC and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Support senior management, portfolio managers and Investor Relations with ad-hoc projects.
