Job summary

Oliver James Associates Ltd. partners with a leading global asset manager to hire a Fund Controller for the Real Estate Finance platform in Manhattan. You will oversee accounting, operational and financial reporting, including NAVs, investor reporting, and expense allocations.

The role emphasizes CPA‑level expertise, strong US GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills, with experience in Yardi/Investran/MRI preferred. Hybrid working and clear progression to Director level are offered.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of relevant financial services experience.
• Big 4/public accounting background followed by PE/real estate experience preferred.
• CPA qualification highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and fund accounting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and systems such as Yardi, Investran or MRI.

Responsibilities

• Oversee third‑party administrators in monthly NAV estimates, quarterly financials, and investor reporting.
• Calculate and review management fees, expense allocations, and GP carried interest distributions.
• Review audited financial statements and coordinate year‑end audits.
• Serve as SME on technical accounting matters with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Support deal closings, valuations, and regulatory reporting; drive process enhancements.
