Oliver James Associates Ltd. is partnering with a leading global asset manager to recruit a Fund Controller in New York.

The role oversees accounting, financial reporting and operations for the ILS fund platform, including NAV, performance estimates, allocations, investor reporting, and audits. You will interact with senior management, portfolio managers and Investor Relations, contributing to cash management, budgeting and regulatory compliance while leveraging experience in private markets and

Qualifications

• CPA qualification and Big 4 public accounting experience are mandatory.
• 8–12 years of accounting and/or finance experience required.
• Strong understanding of accounting, fund accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in asset management, private markets, fund accounting or financial services is highly desirable.
• Experience with credit-related products is advantageous.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with insurance-linked strategies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own financial reporting process: monthly performance estimates, close packages, NAVs, allocations, waterfalls and fund returns.
• Coordinate with Fund Administrator for investor reporting, statements, audits and due diligence requests.
• Assist cash forecasting and budgeting to ensure capital for investments.
• Maintain expense registers and ledgers for budgeting and forecasting.
• Monitor fund credit facilities and ensure compliance with agreements.
• Conduct analyses across large asset portfolios, including data reconciliations and tests.
• Review management and performance fee calculations.
• Respond to investor queries on fund performance, NAVs, taxes, etc.
• Support external audits and tax professionals during year-end processes.
• Assist with SEC and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Support senior management and Investor Relations on ad-hoc projects.
