Job summary

Oliver James partners with a leading global asset manager to hire a Fund Controller in New York. The role covers broad accounting, financial reporting and operations across private markets and insurance-linked strategies.

The candidate will manage NAVs, close processes, investor reporting and portfolio analysis, while working closely with senior management and external service providers. Hybrid working arrangements are offered and a CPA with 8-12 years of experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of accounting and/or finance experience required.
• CPA qualification and Big 4 public accounting experience are MUST.
• Strong understanding of accounting, fund accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience in asset management or financial services desirable.
• Experience with insurance-linked strategies preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Own financial reporting processes including NAVs, close packages, allocations and waterfalls.
• Coordinate investor reporting with Fund Administrator and respond to queries.
• Support cash management forecasting and budgeting for investment capital.
• Maintain expense registers and ledgers for budgeting and forecasting.
• Oversee fund credit facilities and ensure compliance with agreements.
• Analyze large asset portfolios, run reconciliations and tests for portfolio quality.
• Review management and performance fee calculations.
• Support audits, tax reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Assist senior management and investor relations with ad-hoc projects.
