Job summary

Oliver James, in partnership with a leading global alternative asset manager, is seeking a Fund Controller in Manhattan to oversee accounting, financial reporting and NAV processes across the Real Estate Finance platform.

The role requires 5-8 years in financial services, Big 4 experience preferred and CPA highly regarded, with US GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and familiarity with Yardi/Investran/MRI. Hybrid work and a clear path to Director level are offered along with bonus and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of financial services experience.
• CPA preferred; Big 4 background advantageous.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and financial reporting expertise.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with fund accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee third-party administrators in NAV estimates and investor reporting.
• Calculate management fees, expense allocations, and carried interest distributions.
• Review audited statements and coordinate year-end audits.
• Serve as SME on technical accounting with external auditors.
• Approve capital calls and distribution calculations per LP agreement.
• Support deal closings, valuations, and regulatory filings.
• Identify process improvements to scale accounting functions.
