Job summary

City Rise Traffic in North Hollywood, CA is seeking a Traffic Control Associate to manage traffic around active work zones for road construction and utility crews. You will use a Stop/Slow paddle and coordinate with a crew while ensuring safety for motorists and workers.

Responsibilities include setting up cones and barricades as needed, communicating with the public and team, and maintaining equipment in good working order. A valid CA driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.

Qualifications

• Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of Caltrans MUTCD preferred but not required.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus but not required.
• ATSSA Flagging certification; company willing to certify in-house.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a consistent and unrelenting focus on safety throughout all job functions.
• Use traffic signals/signs, traffic plans, and customer requests to safely coordinate traffic flow around the work zone.
• Assist in managing day-to-day work zone set up, maintenance and tear down; meet or exceed regulations and company expectations.
• Communicate with customers, the public, and with other team members.
• Keep equipment in trucks well organized and in working order.
• Develop knowledge of work zone setup and flagging responsibilities.
• Provide high level of customer service with on-time arrival and well managed work zones.
• Recognize hazards using hearing and vision and act to avoid injuries.
• Follow company and state guidelines for safe work zones.
• Drive company trucks as needed.
