United Community Bank in Macomb, IL seeks a full-time teller. You will assist customers with transactions, provide product information, and deliver friendly service while upholding accuracy and security in cash handling.

You’ll use teller software to verify customer data, process deposits and payments, and answer questions about accounts. The role requires Monday–Friday hours and Saturday rotation, with training and adherence to bank policies.

Formación

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
• Experience using Web Teller/check imaging software is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist customers with banking transactions including balances, statements, and account information.
• Ensure customers are fully assisted throughout their visit.
• Use teller software to verify customer data and answer questions about accounts.
• Process deposits, loan payments, cashier’s checks, and other negotiable instruments.
• Handle checks and cash, verify amounts and endorsements before processing.
• Answer phones, screen calls, and route to appropriate department.
• Assist customers in product referrals and cross-sell bank products.
• Explain holds on funds and related policies to customers.
• Maintain knowledge of bank policies and regulatory standards.

United Community Bank is in search of a full-time teller. Candidates will assist customers with various banking needs, offer product information and provide exceptional customer service while presenting a positive image of the Bank. This position meets the needs of customers by providing quality service in the receiving and paying out of money, and accurate record keeping of money and negotiable instruments involved in the bank’s various transactions. Must be available Monday thru Friday during banking hours of operation and Saturday morning rotation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Kindly greet all customers immediately upon entry to maintain a welcoming and helpful environment
• Assist customers with the various financial transactions including but not limited to inquiries regarding their balances, statements, and general account information
• Ensure all customers have been fully assisted
• Use integrated teller and customer data base software to verify customer information and answer questions customers may have about their accounts
• Process loan payments, savings bonds, cashier’s checks, and registration stickers
• Handle checks and cash for deposit; verify amounts and examine checks for endorsement before processing
• Promptly answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls
• Assist and transfer customers to the correct department by using the employee/department directories
• Work towards obtaining qualified customer product referrals each month
• Cross sell and/or refer applicable bank products via the telephone or to customers in person
• Maintain a clear understanding of when to put a "hold" on funds and know how to explain that to a customer
• Capture images on the NDP machine
• Adhere to cash handling policies
• Process deposits from the night depository box and mailed deposits
• Adhere to dual control policies
• Issue Ace/Gift cards
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of bank products and services
• Maintain knowledge of all regulatory standards
• Complete all training and online testing requirements as assigned
• Maintain familiarity with the Bank policies and procedures related to this position including but not limited to Secrecy Act, OFAC, Check Cashing, and Teller Guidelines
• Other related duties as assigned
