Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Surgical Technology diploma from an accredited program or documented on-the-job training is required.
• CPR certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist is preferred.
• One year of surgical technician experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with the perioperative team, under nursing supervision, to provide safe and effective care to surgical patients during the intraperative period.
• Responsible for call.
• Maintains knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
• Demonstrates aseptic technique following policy and procedures.
• Engages in activities to expand the professional role and practice with evidence-based methods.
• Performs patient care safely, accurately, and efficiently according to the established plan of care.
• Follows policies for cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilization of scopes and instruments.
• Follows policies for environmental cleaning and housekeeping.
