Job summary

The Mercy Health Surgical Technologist role at Anderson Hospital supports the operating room team by preparing sterile instruments, supplies and equipment for procedures. You’ll maintain aseptic technique and ensure smooth case flow.

Requires an Associate Degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology, and a current CST/NCCT NBSTA certification; BLS preferred. One year perioperative experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree, Vocational Certification, or Military Certificate in Surgical Technology (required).
• Must be certified by CST, NBSTA or TS-C (TS-C not accepted in Cincinnati).
• NCCT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares, maintains, and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure.
• Provides complete case preparation with the ability to adapt to special instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Assists with pre and post procedure cleaning of the operative room and instruments.
• Prepares and performs surgical skin prep and clipping as indicated by procedure.
