Job summary

Coast Guard Exchange in New Haven, CT is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Hourly Store Manager I to lead a team and drive sales while ensuring high standards of service and operational excellence. The role includes supervising staff, conducting interviews and training, and collaborating with HQ on promotions and pricing.

Responsibilities include managing daily store operations, monitoring safety and loss prevention, and reviewing monthly P&L to align with targets.

Qualifications

Two years of progressively responsible experience in a department manager or assistant manager role, or completion of the CGX Leadership Development program (LDP).
Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

Directs and supervises store personnel and assists customers; resolves complaints.
Interviews, hires, trains, or directs training of assigned personnel.
Develops promotional sales with HQ staff; oversees pricing checks and changes.
Oversees vending and warehouse operations; ensures compliance with safety and loss prevention policies.
Reviews monthly P&L to compare actuals to plan and action where needed.
Welcomes customers, maintains product knowledge, assists in merchandise selection.
