Job summary

Ottawa Area Center is seeking an Instructional Aide to support students with special needs in a center-based program. You will assist with instructional activities, collect data, and help implement IEPs in a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities include personal care support, behavioral strategies, and collaboration with teachers. This full-time role requires a high school diploma and CPI/First Aid/ CPR readiness or training upon hire. OAISD HR handles hiring.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with individuals with disabilities preferred.
• CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with instructional activities and skill development.
• Provide direct support to students with physical and cognitive impairments.
• Assist with personal care tasks including feeding, toileting, hygiene.
• Implement behavior support strategies and crisis intervention plans as directed.
• Monitor student safety and wellbeing throughout the day.
