Job summary

Purple Communications, Inc is seeking a full-time Sign Language Interpreter to provide high quality interpretation through video in a call center and on-site at various customer locations in Columbus, OH. Fluency in American Sign Language and spoken English is required along with adherence to the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct.

The role offers a robust benefits package and requires a 40-hour training and ongoing interpretation assignments to support client needs and company standards.

Qualifications

• Fluent ASL and spoken English language skills.
• Able to provide accurate interpretation.
• Good understanding of Deaf culture.
• NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct adherence.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective video relay service, video remote interpreting, and onsite interpreting for consumers.
• Support and model the company's mission and values.
• Provide excellent customer service with a respectful and professional attitude.
• Maintain punctuality and preparedness for shifts, and accurate record keeping.
• Adhere to FCC regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Adapt quickly to new and changing technologies.
• Multitask between interpreting and using video-based technology.
• Participate in Professional Development training.
