Description
A Server is responsible for serving food and beverages to Residents in their Community’s dining areas, and for cleaning and disinfecting tasks in dining and kitchen areas.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately takes and relays beverage and meal orders
- Adds appropriate garnishes to food and beverages prior to serving
- Must be prepared to work in any area of the Dining Services Department
- Must display a positive demeanor and cheerful disposition to Community Residents and visitors at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Server Team Leader or Director of Dining Services
Qualifications
- A Server must have general knowledge of: (i) sanitation guidelines and governmental regulations applicable to food handling and storage; and (ii) kitchen safety protocol.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Frequent exposure to heat in cooking areas and cold in food storage areas
- Frequent standing, stooping, and bending
- Occasional need to lift and push loads of up to 50 pounds
- Must have the ability to talk, hear, sit, use hands and fingers, handle/feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms
- Specific vision requirements for this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust the focus of the eyes
- Possess adequate physical stamina to move freely about the Community and assist Residents where needed, including in emergency situations
