Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Chester, VA is seeking a Cook to prepare meals per approved menus for residents with varied dietary needs, maintaining kitchen safety and cleanliness.

You will supervise dietary staff in absence of Dining Services Director, assist in training, and ensure timely meal service while following confidentiality policies and safety standards.

Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required with a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in dining services.
• Must be Serv-Safe certified, or be willing to complete certification within 60 days of hire.
• Must have a basic understanding of food service operations including familiarity with other dietary position duties.
• Must possess the ability to read, write, and make simple calculations.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and recipes.
• Supervise dietary staff in absence of Dining Services Director.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times, including floors.
• Attend required in-service and staff meetings.
• Ensure leftovers are properly cooled, stored, and dated.
• Monitor and control portion sizes to minimize food waste.
