Job summary

The Eagle Valley Elementary School kitchen is seeking a Cook to prepare and cook the foods listed on the school lunch menu and serve students efficiently. This full-time role includes health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, retirement contributions, paid holidays and education benefits.

Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation, following approved recipes, checking temperatures, controlling portions, and supporting daily kitchen operations under supervision of the Cafeteria

Qualifications

• 6 months experience working with large quantities of food.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read, write, understand and follow written and verbal calculations as normally acquired through completion of high school diploma/GED.
• Ability to operate a computer.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food in appropriate quantities according to the school lunch menu and serve students efficiently.
• Maintain high sanitation standards in all food handling and storage activities as per policy and health department manuals.
• Measure, weigh and combine ingredients following established recipes approved by Colorado Department of Education and USDA.
• Regulate portions according to National School Lunch Program standards.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and a computerized cashiering point-of-sale system in the absence of the cafeteria manager.
