Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Patient- and Family-Centered Practice knowledge and ability to collaborate with patients and families.
• Cultural Awareness and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Effective communication concepts and ability to engage patients and families.
• Patient assessment, care planning, and post-discharge planning knowledge.
• Medication administration and prescription knowledge.
• Discharge planning and coordination.
• Knowledge of health information documentation in written or electronic form.
• BLS - Basic Life Support qualification by the American Heart Association.
• RN license in the State of Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

• Integrates evidence-based practice with clinical expertise and patient/family preferences for optimal care.
• Partners with patients and families to identify learning needs and provide understandable education.
• Minimizes risk by following nursing practices, protocols, and ethical decision making.
• Uses data to monitor care outcomes and supports quality and safety improvements.
• Recognizes patient/family preferences and creates a respectful, inclusive care environment.
• Participates in professional development and hospital practice committees.
