Job summary

Kindred Hospital Melbourne and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) is seeking a dedicated registered nurse to join our 58-bed hospital and 11-bed ARU. You will plan and deliver nursing care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation, coordinating with physicians, patients, families and the care team.

You will participate in discharge planning, educate patients on pain management, and ensure safe medication administration.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Florida to practice per state requirements.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Prior Medical/Surgical nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and supervise direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process.
• Develop and update nursing care plans with patient, family and team.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and staff.
• Participate in discharge planning and care transitions.
• Administer medications safely following the five rights of medication administration.
• Educate patient and family on pain management and treatment plans.
• Coordinate with other departments for interdisciplinary patient care.
• Document assessments, plans and care activities in the medical record.
• Ensure infection control, safety and quality standards are met.
• Provide end-of-shift reports and ensure accurate handoffs.
