Job summary

Mission Arch Center in Roswell, NM is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join the in-house therapy team for both full-time and PRN positions.

The facility features 120 beds, skilled nursing care, and a short-term rehabilitation program. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time hires, with a supportive, collaborative environment and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current New Mexico PTA license in good standing.
• CPR/BLS certification (required).
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing or subacute rehab setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer treatment to residents to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
• Ensure treatment aligns with the plan of care.
• Provide clinical support and instruct patients, families, and caregivers.
• Monitor patient response to treatment interventions.
• Complete required forms and documentation per policy and state/federal regulations.
• Consult with patients to learn about their physical condition.
• Assess and interpret patient evaluations and test results.
• Develop treatment plans using various techniques.
• Create personalized wellness programs for patients.
• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to improve mobility.
• Advise patients on exercise techniques and home options.
• Provide prevention and ergonomics education.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
• Document patient care history.
• Comply with rules and procedures.
