Job summary

Locally Grown Restaurants is seeking a Prep Cook (Full Time with Weekend availability) for South Restaurant + Coffeehouse in Anchorage, AK. The role involves cooking, prep, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen environment at the South Restaurant + Coffeehouse location.

Responsibilities include following recipes, checking in deliveries, adhering to portion sizes and safety standards, and assisting with end-of-shift duties.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must have a current Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card
• Minimum 1 year of kitchen preparation and/or cooking experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Completes opening checklist as assigned by Prep Supervisor
• Prepares tasks and recipes as assigned by the Prep Supervisor in an efficient and timely manner
• Demonstrates safe and proper operation of knives and all kitchen equipment
• Understands and complies with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintains an organized, clean, and sanitary work area across kitchen stations
• Closes the kitchen or ends shift properly following closing/end-of-shift checklists
• Reports equipment and food quality problems to the Prep Supervisor or Kitchen Manager
• Assists with receiving, checking in, and storing orders from vendors
• Informs Prep Supervisor or Kitchen Manager of shortages and outs from vendors
• Rotates product to enable First In First Out inventory
• Records waste or spoilage and notifies kitchen supervisor before disposal
• Follows recipe procedures using standard measuring tools
• Performs other duties as assigned and is available to work weekends
