Job summary

Locally Grown Restaurants in Anchorage is seeking a Barista/Counter team member for the South Restaurant + Coffeehouse. You will greet guests, take orders, prepare beverages, serve food if needed, and maintain a clean espresso area in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires AM/weekend availability, strong English communication, and attention to detail with POS transactions and cash handling. Join a friendly team focused on quality coffee and guest experience.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must be able to communicate, write, and understand English.
• Must be able to work, standing and walking, in a fast-paced environment for up to 9 hours.
• Must have a current Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card.
• Must possess basic and accurate cash handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take orders, make and serve beverages, accept payments, and keep the espresso area clean and organized.
• Provide exemplary customer service at all times and assist in food preparation as needed.
• Work with other staff to keep areas clean and organized, complete opening/closing side work.
• Know POS functions and navigate systems quickly; execute sales transactions accurately.
• Follow drink recipes, demonstrate knowledge of coffee and espresso, and present beverages properly.
