Prep Cook (Full Time) - Spenard Roadhouse

The Prep Cook's duties are to cook and prepare a variety of recipes and food products, including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads, and other food products using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the daily prep list.
Operations
- Completes opening checklist as assigned by Prep Supervisor
- Prepares tasks and recipes as assigned by the Prep Supervisor in an efficient and timely manner
- Demonstrates safe and proper operation of knives and all kitchen equipment
- Understands and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
- Maintains an organized, clean, and sanitary work area, which may include tables, shelves, walls, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range, and refrigeration equipment
- Closes the kitchen or ends shift properly and follows the closing or end-of-shift checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in closing the kitchen or End of Shift duties
- Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to the Prep Supervisor or the Kitchen Manager
- Assists with receiving, checking in, and putting away orders from vendors throughout the shift
- Informs Prep Supervisor or Kitchen Manager immediately of product shortages and outs from vendors
- Rotates product accordingly to facilitate First In First Out
- Records any waste or spoilage and informs the Prep Supervisor or Kitchen Manager prior to disposing unusable product
- Follows recipe procedures using standard measuring tools for ingredients
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on the needs of the business
Other Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age, some responsibilities do not apply if under 18
- Must have a current Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card
- Minimum 1 year of kitchen preparation and/or cooking experience preferred
