Job summary

Locally Grown Restaurants' Spenard Roadhouse in Anchorage is hiring a Prep Cook (Full Time). You will work in a fast-paced, contemporary kitchen, preparing a variety of recipes and ensuring quality across meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, stocks, breads, and more.

The role requires at least 16 years old, an Anchorage Food Worker Card, and at least one year of kitchen experience. We offer strong benefits, dining discounts, and a collaborative team committed to local, scratch-made meals.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must have a current Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card.
• Minimum 1 year of kitchen preparation and/or cooking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completes opening checklist as assigned by Prep Supervisor
• Prepares tasks and recipes as assigned by the Prep Supervisor in an efficient and timely manner
• Demonstrates safe and proper operation of knives and all kitchen equipment
• Understands and complies with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen rules and procedures
• Maintains an organized, clean, and sanitary work area across kitchen stations
• Closes the kitchen or ends shift properly and follows end-of-shift checklists
• Reports equipment and food quality problems promptly
• Assists with receiving, checking in, and storing orders from vendors
• Communicates shortages and outs from vendors promptly
• Rotates product per FIFO
• Records waste or spoilage and notifies supervisor prior to disposal
• Follows recipe procedures using standard measuring tools
• Other duties as assigned by business needs
