Job summary

Trinity Healthcare Talent Services seeks a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to join a skilled nursing facility in Maplewood, Minnesota. As a full-time employee, you will assist the physical therapist in evaluating and treating patients with a variety of conditions, helping them regain mobility.

You will document progress, educate patients and families, maintain a clean treatment area, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution.
• Current state license or eligibility to obtain licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Minnesota.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and documentation procedures.
• Physical stamina to assist patients with mobility and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physical therapist in evaluating and treating patients with a variety of conditions, including injuries, disabilities, and illnesses.
• Help patients perform therapeutic exercises and activities to improve their strength, mobility, and range of motion.
• Monitor and document patients' progress and report any changes to the physical therapist.
• Educate patients and their families on proper techniques for exercise and activities to continue their progress at home.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for each patient.
• Maintain a clean and organized treatment area and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
• Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
