Job summary

Mercy Pharmacy South in Missouri seeks a Pharmacy Technician to assist pharmacists with preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications. The technician reports to the supervising pharmacist and will follow all applicable laws for patient safety.

Tech I/II/III roles require high school diploma and Missouri Board registration; fingerprinting for FBI background check may be required. Prior pharmacy experience varies by level; orientation is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalence is required.
• Missouri Board of Pharmacy registration as Pharmacy Technician or willingness to submit registration by first day of work (including fingerprints for FBI background check).
• 1 year relevant pharmacy experience preferred for Tech I; 1 year required for Tech II; 3 years required for Tech III.
• Successful completion of pharmacy department orientation.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing, compounding, and dispensing medications.
• Follow standards and federal, state and local laws and regulations for care and safety of customers and patients.
• Support supervising pharmacist who is legally responsible for patient care and safety.
