Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department associate to provide quality customer service, maintain stock levels, and follow Food Lion safety guidelines. You will handle deliveries, price and stock meat, dairy, and other perishables, and assist customers with a friendly, efficient shopping experience.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn multiple tasks within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store appropriately.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying meet policies.
• Maintain product levels in Perishable Department (meat, dairy, frozen, etc.).
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat; operate grinder as needed.
• Clean and sanitize the department; follow safety guidelines.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions; report accidents when needed.
