Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Perishable Department Team Member to provide quality customer service, maintain product levels and ensure food safety standards in a fast-paced retail setting.

You will work in the Perishable Department handling meat, dairy and prepared items, rotate stock, receive deliveries, and assist customers with a positive shopping experience while adhering to Food Lion policies and safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO.
• Receive deliveries, code where applicable, rotate and store properly.
• Ensure ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise follows policies.
• Maintain proper product levels in the Perishable Department (meat, lunchmeat, frozen, dairy, ice cream).
• Process beef and grinds as directed from planned production tool and requests.
• Wrap, label, weigh and stock meat case as needed; assemble/disassemble/clean grinder as required.
• Clean and sanitize the department; maintain layout standards and ensure advertising materials are used.
• Follow Food Lion policies, safety guidelines and report accidents as required.
