Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a store associate in the Perishable Department to provide quality customer service, maintain department standards, and maximize sales while minimizing shrink. You will handle receiving, stocking, and display of perishables, follow safety guidelines, and support associates across shifts in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain enthusiastic customer awareness with fast, friendly, and accurate service.
• Be courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand and use store tools such as ACIS and CAO where applicable.
• Receive deliveries, code, rotate and store accordingly.
• Ensure proper merchandising and display according to guidelines.
• Maintain product levels in perishables: meat, lunchmeat, dairy, ice cream, etc.
• Follow safety and company policies; observe food safety procedures.
• Report accidents to Manager on Duty and follow Food Lion procedures.
