Job summary

UPMC in Harrisburg is seeking a full-time Patient Services Representative to support the REACCH Program. The role focuses on delivering a positive patient experience at a fast-paced clinical front desk, guiding patients through check-in, collecting payments, and updating demographic/insurance information.

As the first point of contact, you will promote patient portal usage, assist with registrations, and coordinate follow-up appointments while maintaining HIPAA compliance and compassionate

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills in fast-paced settings.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience guiding patients through check-in or self-arrival technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm greeting for all patients.
• Guide patient through use of self-arrival technology or check-in at desk.
• Collect copayments and other payments at the point of service.
• Confirm and update patient registration information and schedule follow-up appointments.
• Provide follow-up to unresolved patient questions or needs.
• Promote MyUPMC patient portal and assist registration.
• Verify insurance benefits with the appropriate carrier.
• Obtain signature of patient or family member for consent to treatment following HIPAA rules.
• Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
