Allied Digestive Health in Pearl River, NY, is seeking a Full-Time Laboratory Aide for our NY Pathology Lab. The role supports the Lab with clerical and ancillary duties and maintains equipment readiness for patient output.

Responsibilities include embedding blocks, staining, QA/QC, inventory, and preparing solutions for H&E staining. The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED with 1 year of lab experience preferred and must be able to work 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday–Friday, with possible overtime.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• One year of lab experience is preferred.
• Willingness to work shift work and overtime.

Mansioni

• Supports Histology staff with clerical and ancillary functions.
• Participate in embedding, staining, QC, filing, and cleaning tasks.
• Ensures day-to-day tasks are completed accurately.
• Responsible for QA/QC charts for all Laboratory equipment.
• Prepares and maintains working solutions for routine H&E staining.
• Prepares, stains, and handles slides using manual or automatic systems.
• Performs routine maintenance and troubleshoots minor equipment issues.
• Logs information into Lab logbooks and forms.
• Verifies surgical case numbers match blocks and slides; prints labels.
• Maintains and cleans laboratory equipment, glassware, and instruments.
• Manages supply inventory and orders from purchasing department.
• Identifies problems affecting test performance and reports to manager.
• Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA and OSHA guidelines.
• Complies with Lab SOPs and regulatory requirements.
