Job summary

GI Alliance is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support pathology operations. You will assist staff with phones, daily maintenance, data entry and filing, and help with tissue accessioning and labeling.

Under supervision, you will prepare reagents and perform routine staining, distribute slides to pathologists, and maintain a clean, compliant lab environment. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with AS preferred, and about one year in a laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; AS preferred.
• Experience: 1 year in a laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with telephone calls, daily maintenance and filing.
• Accessioning and labeling of tissue samples.
• Process paperwork for accessioning and reporting.
• Prepare reagents for tissue processing and staining.
• Perform routine H&E staining under supervision.
• Distribute slides to pathologists and file blocks/slides.
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with safety, quality standards.
• Perform clerical duties and support the Pathology lab.
